Adam Boalt, CEO of govWorks, on Qualities of a Good Domain Name

What’s in a name? As the famous play says. Well, when talking about internet marketing, it may mean a lot, or everything. Just try to imagine famous website like Facebook, YouTube and others. Once you hear the name, you already know what it is for, what it does and how to visit that particular website. This is the reason why domain name selling is a very popular business on the internet. Many old websites that doesn’t have the fund and the resources to keep the website going, usually sell the domain name or the website name. A lot of internet marketers go for these websites instead of something new because there are already loyal subscribers in these websites. We can safely say that this is some kind of jump start.

A Good Domain Name

So how do you know whether it’s a good domain name or not? Here are some tips from Adam Boalt, CEO of govWorks:

  1. A good domain name should have a niche that corresponds to your own. In other words, the main subject of that website should be the same as the subject that the new owner want to put in it. This is to make sure that the sit remains in the same genre to avoid the loss of the old subscribers. If this is met, you are sure that domain name is good for you.

  2. A good domain name has a lot of mailing list. The mailing list is basically the subscribers of that website. The more emails on that list, the more advertisements will go your way making sure that even if you are not selling products, you are earning through different advertisements. After all, this is internet marketing.

These are only two of the most basic qualities to check. Just remember that buying a domain name is an investment so you have to keep you efforts up.
